Launch of Win-Win Type Industrial Safety Work Experience Project
Hyundai Motor, Ministry of Employment and Labor, and universities join forces
Fostering young talent and narrowing regional safety education gaps
On the 15th, Hyundai Motor Company signed a 'Public-Private-Academic Cooperation Agreement (MOU) in the Field of Industrial Safety for Creating a Sustainable Safety Ecosystem' with the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Industrial Safety Win-Win Foundation, and major universities at its headquarters in Yangjae-dong, Seoul.
According to the agreement, Hyundai Motor plans to provide a practical education environment and share its own safety management know-how to make a tangible contribution to enhancing the industrial safety capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises. The Industrial Safety Win-Win Foundation will lead the matching of professional personnel, mentoring, and the development of customized programs, supporting project operations.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor will support regional small and medium-sized enterprises in improving their industrial safety capabilities on-site through institutional improvements and financial support.
Participating universities such as Yuhan University, Korea National University of Transportation, Wonkwang University, and Dong-Eui University will promote the cultivation of young industrial safety talents through regional industry-academia cooperation networks in the metropolitan, central, Jeolla, and Gyeongsang regions. In particular, more than 75% of all participants are composed of youth from non-metropolitan areas, aiming to reduce educational disparities between regions and achieve balanced placement of industrial safety talents.
The 'Win-Win Type Industrial Safety Work Experience Project' will operate for about nine months from April to December, offering practical education courses such as risk assessment, disaster prevention, and establishment of safety management systems. Participants will also receive a monthly allowance worth 1 million KRW, certificates of completion, and awards for outstanding performers.
A Hyundai Motor official said, "This is a starting point to nurture industrial safety talents with practical capabilities and reduce safety gaps between companies," adding, "We will take a responsible role in building a win-win safety ecosystem where the public, private, and academic sectors work together."
