Ansan City to Foster Sustainable Tourism at Tandohang Nue Island Using Big Data

Gyeonggi-do Ansan City is utilizing big data to devise measures to revitalize tourism at 'Tandohang Nue Island.'


On the 15th, Ansan City announced that the 'Tandohang Nue Island Marine Tourism Revitalization Plan,' jointly promoted with Ansan Urban Corporation, was selected for the Korea Tourism Organization's '2025 Smart Consulting with Big Data' contest project.

This project supports customized consulting for regional tourism projects based on big data from the Korea Tourism Organization, including ▲analysis of local tourism conditions ▲discovery of tailored projects ▲solving tourism-related issues faced by local governments.


In this contest, 10 projects, including the 'Tandohang Nue Island Marine Tourism Revitalization Plan,' were selected.


With this selection, the city will receive consulting on ▲big data analysis centered on Tandohang Nue Island ▲discovery of tourism resources through collaboration with experts in various fields. Based on the consulting results, the city plans to develop sustainable tourism content and establish an operational foundation to formulate customized tourism strategies.


Lee Min-geun, Mayor of Ansan City, stated, "We plan to more precisely understand travelers' demands through big data analysis and develop sustainable tourism content."
