The volunteer activity was attended by T'way Air employees' volunteer group, the Bishkek branch, and officials from the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO). Also present were Tagayev Muratali Abdikarovich, head of the Kyrgyzstan Forest Agency, and Kim Kwang-jae, ambassador to Kyrgyzstan.
On that day, T'way Air planted a total of 1,000 elm and juniper trees over 1 hectare of afforestation land. They also carried out maintenance of the trees planted last October and installed irrigation facilities.
On the 13th, they trekked along the eco-trail at Ala Archa National Park, climbing a snow-covered mountain path, and installed wildfire suppression tools along the trekking course. They also plan to visit schools in the Bishkek area to provide educational volunteer services such as talent donation.
T'way Air is expanding its air routes in the Central Asia region. It is the only Korean carrier operating in the Bishkek area of Kyrgyzstan and is scheduled to launch flights to Tashkent, Uzbekistan next month.
A T'way Air official said, "We thank the employees who voluntarily participated in the volunteer activities," adding, "We will continue ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management and promote exchanges between countries through global eco-friendly activities centered on our Central Asia destinations."
