Establishing a Comprehensive Care System
Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) announced on the 15th that it will officially operate the 'Seoripul Care SOS Service,' a care-specialized system unique to Seocho-gu that provides customized care services to residents in need, starting this month.
The 'Seoripul Care SOS Service' has supported 1,403 care services to vulnerable groups in need of care based on a cooperative framework established with various local community entities since 2022.
With donations from local residents to help neighbors, the service operates tailored care projects unique to Seocho, including ▲delivery of customized meals such as liquid diets (Bonjuk Seocho Naegok Branch) and nutritional meals (Seocho Community Self-Support Center) ▲additional support for transportation and material costs (housing environment improvement), and through business agreements, ▲support for outpatient medical expenses at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital ▲visiting oriental medicine treatment and herbal medicine support by the Seocho-gu Korean Medicine Association ▲functional plastic surgery by Wrinkle Plastic Surgery Clinic, all in collaboration with the local community.
Medically vulnerable groups eligible for medical benefits (types 1 and 2) and those with reduced co-payments under the near-poor category who require oriental medicine treatment and services within the community can apply for treatment at designated nearby Korean medicine clinics by region or receive in-clinic treatment. They can access various services including oriental medicine treatments and select specialized clinics suitable for diseases such as diabetes and Parkinson's to receive personalized medical services.
In addition, the district leads efforts to fill care gaps for residents by providing the 'Care SOS 5 Major Services (temporary home care, short-term facilities, accompaniment support, housing convenience, meal delivery)' and 'Daily Care Services.'
Applications for the Care SOS Service can be made by contacting the local community service center of the resident’s registered address or the Care Support Team of the Welfare Policy Division at Seocho-gu Office (02-2155-5243), where guidance on available care services can be provided.
Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, "I hope Seocho-gu’s unique care-specialized system becomes a reliable support for residents in need of care," adding, "We will continue to prepare various care services and strive to eliminate care gaps."
