Seongdong-gu Operates 'Seongsu-dong Mobile Tourist Information Center'... Guiding Every Corner of the Alley

Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced that it will operate the 'Seongsu-dong Mobile Tourist Information Center' to enhance travel convenience for domestic and international tourists visiting Seongsu-dong.

Last year, the number of subway boardings and alightings at Seongsu Station surpassed 30 million, making Seongsu-dong one of Seoul's representative commercial districts and a truly global tourist destination.

Accordingly, the district started operating the 'Seongsu-dong Mobile Tourist Information Center' on April 12, about three months earlier than last year, providing full-scale tourist information services to visitors.

The 'Mobile Tourist Information Center' is a service where tourist guides circulate around popular spots such as Seongsu Station, Seoul Forest, and Atelier Street, offering various tourist information including interpretation services, geographic information, and introductions to tourist courses.

Tourist guides, wearing mint-colored jumpers and helmets to catch people's attention, ride three-wheeled electric bicycles through the alleys, distributing self-produced themed tourist maps. When tourists inquire about tourist sites on the spot, the guides accompany them to the locations and provide guidance.

Operating in the morning and afternoon for about three hours each, the service focuses on guiding major events such as Seongsu-dong shopping streets, Seongdong-gu’s top 100 restaurants, pop-up stores, and festivals. It also introduces hidden local attractions and experiences tailored to tourists' preferences.

Seongdong-gu also operates the 'Seongsu Tourist Information Center' inside Seongsu Station on Subway Line 2. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, professional tourist interpreters are stationed to recommend travel courses and provide customized tourist information services. Last year, a total of 18,525 people visited the 'Seongsu Tourist Information Center.'

In particular, with the full-scale operation of the 'Mobile Seongsu Tourist Information Center,' the number of users increased by more than 35.6%, from an average of 87 people per day in August to 118 in September, providing tourist information services to an average of 106 foreigners daily. The unique guidance has been highly praised by citizens for delivering both fun and information.

Mayor Jung Won-oh said, "As Seongsu-dong is recognized as one of the coolest neighborhoods in the world and attracts many domestic and international tourists, we expect the 'Mobile Seongsu Tourist Information Center' to greatly improve tourism convenience. We will also do our best to develop various tourism contents and provide customized services so that Seongdong-gu can be remembered as a charming and special city that people want to visit again."
