Temporary Pavement at Entrance Installation Section for Station
No Abnormalities Found in Road Condition After Inspection
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, visited the Sinansan Line construction site near Sinpung Station on the 14th to conduct a joint inspection in order to alleviate residents' concerns about the road subsidence caused by the collapse accident on the Sinansan Line in Gwangmyeong City.
The measurement results from the "surface settlement gauge," which measures the degree of ground subsidence, confirmed that there were no abnormal changes such as road subsidence or collapse.
On that day, the construction company explained that the raised road at the Sinpung Station intersection is unrelated to road subsidence, and that a slight height difference between the road and the temporary steel plate (deck plate) installed for the entrance above existing facilities such as the SK communication manhole caused the road to appear raised.
The section is scheduled to have the steel plates removed and asphalt leveling work carried out as soon as the construction is completed in the first half of this year, so the road height difference is expected to be resolved soon.
The district plans to continue automatic measurements at the construction site until the construction is completed and electronically manage any abnormalities.
The underground excavation work for the main section of the Sinansan Line within the region has only about 0.04 km remaining out of the 6.7 km section, currently 96% complete, and the underground tunnel construction is expected to be 100% finished around April.
The excavation work in the Yeongdeungpo section has already been completed, and entrance construction is currently underway. The Sinansan Line is scheduled to open by the end of 2026.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, stated, "In relation to the Sinansan Line construction, we are conducting thorough safety inspections of the roads to alleviate residents' concerns. If necessary, we will arrange on-site inspections with resident representatives and hold residents' briefings."
