Uiseong County: "Restoration to Be Completed by End of This Month"
Uiseong County in North Gyeongsang Province has partnered with the social welfare foundation "Ttatteutan Donghaeng" to support the restoration of senior community centers recently damaged by wildfires.
According to Uiseong County, Lee Kwangjae, Executive Representative of Ttatteutan Donghaeng, personally inspected four senior community centers affected by the wildfires and confirmed that two were completely destroyed and two were partially damaged. Of these, the two partially damaged centers will receive renovations worth approximately 30 million KRW through the "Dream House" project.
Ttatteutan Donghaeng, established in 2010, is a social welfare foundation that carries out a variety of welfare initiatives, including space welfare support, provision of assistive devices for people with disabilities, job creation, and awareness improvement education. The foundation is also active in supporting North Korean defectors and in the field of international development cooperation.
Lee Kwangjae, Executive Representative, stated, "I hope this project will serve not only as a simple restoration but also as a starting point for the recovery of the village community."
Kim Jusu, Governor of Uiseong County, said, "The county will do its utmost to restore the community spaces for the elderly by allocating the necessary budget," adding, "We aim to complete the construction by the end of this month."
The county expects that, once restoration is complete, seniors will be able to once again enjoy leisure activities in a safe and comfortable environment.
