Hanjin announced on the 14th that its operating profit for the first quarter of this year increased by 12% compared to the same period last year, reaching 26.2 billion KRW. Sales rose by 2.2% to 728 billion KRW.
Hanjin explained that the operating profit increased noticeably due to improvements in the parcel delivery and global business performance.
Positive factors included the operational efficiency of the Daejeon Mega Center, which is the core of the parcel delivery business, growth in cross-border e-commerce, and increased logistics in air and sea forwarding (cargo transportation and brokerage).
A Hanjin representative stated, "We plan to continue efforts in discovering new customers, improving profitability, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management, while establishing a solid foundation for sustainable growth amid rapidly changing internal and external conditions."
