Head Kang skipped the inauguration ceremony and replaced it with a safety inspection for the safety of the residents. At the construction site located in the Jangam-dong to Songsan-dong area of Uijeongbu City, Head Kang personally checked the initial disaster response readiness and discussed safety management plans while encouraging the related personnel.
In particular, Head Kang mentioned recent ground subsidence accidents that occurred in the Gyeonggi area and urged the construction companies to take preemptive safety measures and thoroughly manage the site to prevent similar accidents.
Kang Dae-hoon, head of the Northern Fire and Disaster Headquarters, is a disaster response expert who has held key positions including the 8th class fire officer candidate, head of the Daejeon Fire Headquarters, director of the Fire Agency’s Response General Division, spokesperson of the Fire Agency, and head of the Sejong Fire Headquarters.
Newly appointed Head Kang said, "I feel a heavy sense of duty as I take office as the head of the Northern Fire and Disaster Headquarters with the grave responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the residents. I will do my best to strengthen a practical prevention and response system centered on the field and to make the fire organization trustworthy."
