This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Egypt, and the foreign ministers of both countries exchanged congratulatory letters to commemorate the occasion.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 14th, Minister Cho Tae-yeol exchanged congratulatory letters with Badr Abdelati, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of the "30th Anniversary of Korea-Egypt Diplomatic Relations." Korea and Egypt established diplomatic relations on April 13, 1995.
In his congratulatory letter, Minister Cho evaluated the development of friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries in various fields since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1995, and stated, "Let us strengthen continuous cooperation based on the Comprehensive Cooperation Partnership established in 2016." He added, "Korean companies operating in Egypt are actively engaged locally," and expressed hope that exchanges between the two countries would further expand on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year.
Minister Abdelati also stated in his letter, "I am pleased to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, a very important moment in the history of cooperation between our two countries," and praised the strong partnership built over the past 30 years based on mutual respect and common interests in various fields such as economy, culture, development cooperation, and regional and international security.
