On the 14th, Jeollanam-do held a communication meeting with the implementing agencies and the Jeonnam Immigration and Foreign Residents Support Center to discuss the direction and strategies for strengthening cooperation for the successful implementation of the '2025 Settlement Support Project for Foreign Residents'.

The meeting was organized to share information among the institutions carrying out the settlement support project for foreign residents and to listen to voices from the field. Participants shared each institution's business plans, discussed challenges encountered in the field, and exchanged various opinions to discover future collaborative projects.

Since 2014, Jeollanam-do has been promoting support projects for foreign residents in accordance with the 'Jeollanam-do Ordinance on Support for Foreign Residents'. Starting in 2025, the project types will be expanded and subdivided to reflect diverse needs. Major initiatives include capacity-building education, mobile counseling services, cultural and sports events, and support for community operations.

This year, a total of six organizations have been selected as implementing agencies, including the Jeonnam Migrant Integration Support Center, Jeonnam Multicultural Social Cooperative, Hanmaeum, Korea Root Industry Promotion Association in the western region, and the Gwangyang Foreign Workers Center and Yeosu Family Plus Center in the eastern region. These organizations are actively operating, focusing on areas with high concentrations of foreign residents.

Jeollanam-do plans to continue regular communication and collaboration, starting with this meeting, by monitoring project outcomes, sharing best practices among institutions, and strengthening regional cooperation networks.
