Governor Kim Taeheum: "Former Leader Lee Jaemyung Lacks Morality Compared to Ordinary Citizens" Kim Taeheum Chungnam Governor

Kim Taeheum, Governor of Chungnam Province, criticized former Democratic Party leader Lee Jaemyung's morality and political actions on the 14th.

At a press conference held at the provincial government office that day, Governor Kim stated, "Former leader Lee lacks morality compared to ordinary citizens," and argued, "To lead the Republic of Korea, one must at least possess basic character."

He continued, "How can someone who has purged and excluded those with different views from nominations speak about unity and harmony?" raising questions about Lee's leadership and political sincerity.

Governor Kim pointed out, "Although there is a consensus in the political sphere on the need for constitutional amendment, only candidate Lee Jaemyung is showing a passive attitude, weighing political gains and losses," adding, "I question whether he has the stature of a political leader."

He further emphasized, "Neither side has a perfect candidate, but in order to properly manage state affairs, constitutional amendment is necessary, and introducing a semi-presidential system would be desirable."

Regarding the possibility of Prime Minister Han Ducksoo running for president, Kim said, "While I highly value his expertise as a trade specialist, I have doubts about his overall capability to manage state affairs," adding, "The party should consider whether it is right to keep bringing in external figures."
