10 Sessions to Be Held This Month Due to Presidential Election
Cheonan City in Chungnam will begin its first half civil defense training starting on the 22nd.
This training targets approximately 48,000 members. Those in their 1st and 2nd year are required to complete 4 hours of in-person training, those in their 3rd and 4th year must complete 2 hours of online training, and those in their 5th year must complete 1 hour of online training.
The training will be held at Seobuk-gu Seonhwan Culture Center for a total of 5 days, from the 22nd to the 24th and from the 29th to the 30th, with 10 sessions divided into morning and afternoon. The schedule for Dongnam-gu has not yet been confirmed, but cross-participation is possible.
This year, there will be a total of 22 in-person training sessions. According to the Civil Defense Basic Act, training will be temporarily suspended from May 12 until June 3, the presidential election day.
Detailed schedules and precautions can be checked through the National Disaster Safety Portal or the Safety Didimdol app. Online training can be completed on the city hall or Smart Civil Defense Education website.
A city official stated, "Civil defense plays an important role in protecting the safety of the local community and families during emergencies," and added, "We hope that members will actively participate in the training so they can respond more effectively in emergency situations."
