The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (President Song Pil-ho) announced on the 14th that it conducted laundry volunteer work and a thorough cleaning at the residential facility for the disabled, 'Gwangmyeong Sarangui Jip,' located in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province.
A 5.5-ton laundry relief vehicle equipped with three large washing machines and three dryers was deployed for the volunteer activity, thoroughly cleaning the blankets and bedding used by the residents throughout the winter. This vehicle was produced with sponsorship from Hyundai Motor Group and has been consistently utilized at various disaster sites such as wildfires, floods, and earthquakes to support the hygiene and daily recovery of disaster victims.
More than 20 members from local volunteer groups 'Wonderful Gwangmyeong' and the 'Gwangmyeong Disabled Sexual Violence Counseling Support Association' also participated, helping to organize and clean both the interior and exterior of the facility. A representative from Wonderful Gwangmyeong stated, "We wanted to offer a small help so that the residents could welcome a warm spring in a more comfortable environment."
Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, said, "The laundry relief vehicle, which has been used to restore the lives of disaster victims at disaster sites, is also contributing to the daily lives of neighbors in the local community during normal times," adding, "Hope Bridge will continue activities that go beyond disaster relief to work together with the local community."
