Dalseo District in Daegu (District Mayor Lee Taehun) announced on the 14th that the local community enterprise 'Hanguk Bokta Cooperative' has been selected as the only representative from Daegu for the '2025 Excellent Community Enterprise' designation, organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Excellent Community Enterprise designation is awarded annually nationwide to exemplary companies that have contributed to revitalizing local communities and realizing social values. Selected enterprises receive up to 70 million KRW in business support funds.
Since being designated as a youth community enterprise in 2021, 'Hanguk Bokta' has provided youth job experience opportunities through agreements with local universities and contributed to employment linkage by operating instructor training programs, among others. In particular, the organization received high marks for building an inclusive community model by running sports and educational programs not only for youth but also for vulnerable groups such as career-interrupted women, the elderly, and people with developmental disabilities.
Dalseo District in Daegu has been implementing policy support and capacity-building programs to help social economy enterprises establish a foundation for self-reliance, and this selection is seen as a result of those efforts.
Lee Taehun, Mayor of Dalseo District, Daegu, stated, "The selection of Hanguk Bokta as an Excellent Community Enterprise is an achievement grown together with the local community," adding, "We will continue to actively support community enterprises so that they can develop into sustainable businesses equipped with both self-reliance and community spirit."
