Kim Munyong, the newly appointed Chief of the Daejeon Fire Headquarters, visited the Jungang Market for an on-site safety inspection on the 14th without holding a separate inauguration ceremony.
On this day, Chief Kim inspected the operation of fire safety facilities, checked for fire hazards, and emphasized the importance of establishing practical safety measures through a meeting with market merchants.
Chief Kim Munyong graduated from Korea Maritime and Ocean University and was appointed as a member of the 10th class of fire officer candidates in 1999. He has held key positions including Chief of Gwangju Fire Headquarters, Director of Equipment and Technology at the National Fire Agency, Principal of Busan Fire Academy, and Chief of Boseong Fire Station in Jeonnam.
During his tenure as the 20th Chief of Gwangju Fire Headquarters, he contributed to strengthening the response system to major disasters and improving citizens' sense of safety.
Chief Kim stated, "As a safety guardian protecting the lives and property of citizens, I will do my utmost to realize a 'safe Daejeon and a trusted fire service,'" and added, "I will further strengthen on-site response capabilities and promote an open fire administration that communicates with citizens."
