Jangheung County Hosts 'Rock Festa' Concert at Former Jangheung Prison

Jangheung County in Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Sung) announced on the 14th that the DuRuDuRu Traveling Pop Music Concert, held at the former Jangheung Prison, was a great success.

This event, held on the 5th, was hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Popular Music Performance Industry Association. The concert featured Crying Nut, known for hit songs such as "The Night is Deep" and "Isn't It Good," as well as indie rock legends No Brain.

Rising rock bands also captivated visitors, including Hwano, who won the Excellence Award at the 2023 KT&G Sangsangmadang Band Discovery; Moher, who made a sensational debut by winning the Silver Award at the 2024 Incheon Penta Super Rookie and the Grand Prize at the 2024 Gi Hyeongdo Music Festival; and The Fix, a four-member female band formed on JTBC Super Band 2 in 2021, who won the Grand Prize at the 2023 Incheon Pentaport Super Rookie. Before the concert, a market festival was held, featuring local food from Jangheung and various art booths.

Governor Kim Sung said, "I hope everyone who attended the concert at the former Jangheung Prison had a wonderful time enjoying the vibrant atmosphere," and added, "Once the official opening takes place, we will invite even more diverse cultural and artistic performances so that residents can enjoy culture and the arts up close."
