Yongin City announced on the 14th that the Gyeonggi-do public bus 'Bus No. 9241' will officially begin operation from the 15th. This bus departs from 'Hansup 6 Complex' in Namsa-eup and operates as an express seat-type city bus passing through ▲ Yongin City Hall ▲ Samga Station ▲ Sangha-dong, Giheung-gu ▲ Gangnam University Station ▲ Giheung Station ▲ Suwon Singal IC ▲ Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley, and finally reaching 'Pangyo National Archives.'
Six buses will be deployed on the route, operating 30 times a day at 35-minute intervals. On weekends, four buses will operate 20 times a day. The fare is 2,800 KRW (based on transportation card), the same as the existing metropolitan buses.
With the opening of this route, residents of Namsa-eup, who previously had to transfer buses to travel to Pangyo, can now travel without transfers.
Earlier, the city submitted a demand for the establishment of a new Gyeonggi-do public bus route in September 2023 to improve the 'P9241' Gyeonggi Premium Bus route that opened in November 2020. The route was selected as a new Gyeonggi-do public bus project in December of the same year, and after selecting and negotiating with a transportation operator, the city has now officially started operation. With the launch of the new route, the existing 'P9241' bus service will end on the 1st of next month.
Mayor Lee Sang-il stated, "We will continue to monitor buses operating in the region, including Bus No. 9241, to enhance the convenience of public transportation usage."
