Boosting the Local Commercial District
Namwon City in Jeonbuk is ramping up promotional activities for the 'Donghaeng Festa' to revitalize the local commercial district ahead of the 95th Chunhyang Festival (April 30 - May 6).
The Namwon Small Business Association (President Kang Sangnam) and the Namwon Supermarket Business Cooperative (Chairman Jeon Jaewan) recently announced on the 14th that they conducted promotional activities for the 'Donghaeng Festa' and its discount events in the commercial area near Gwanghallu Garden.

This promotional campaign was organized by the associations to raise awareness of the 'Donghaeng Festa' during the Chunhyang Festival and to encourage participation from both citizens and tourists.
Currently, about 70 businesses including restaurants, cafes, accommodations, and retail shops have confirmed their participation in the 'Donghaeng Festa'. Participating businesses will voluntarily offer discounts or additional services during the Chunhyang Festival. These businesses will display a 'Donghaeng Festa Participating Business' sign to help citizens and tourists easily identify where they can enjoy the benefits.
A city official stated, "The goal of this Donghaeng Festa is to create a virtuous cycle that revitalizes the local economy by providing tangible benefits to tourists visiting Namwon through the voluntary participation of local businesses. We hope many citizens and tourists will visit the participating businesses and support the local commercial district."
During the event, the city will operate a 'Price Stability Inspection Team' and a 'Overcharging Report Center' to prevent and respond quickly to unfair pricing, aiming to realize a 'fair festival' without overcharging.
Tourists visiting Namwon for the Chunhyang Festival can enjoy various benefits and the pleasure of reasonable spending at businesses participating in the 'Donghaeng Festa'. Information on participating businesses can be found on the Namwon City website and official SNS channels.
