A Special Three-Day Event for Recovery and Healing
"Yeongyang Wild Greens Food Festival" to Be Held May 9-11
A marketplace of hope rising again after the pain of a wildfire?Yeongyang County invites you to join with warm comfort and healthy local foods.
Yeongyang County in North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Oh Dochang) will hold a special event, "Yeongyang Wild Greens Food Festival," focused on regional recovery and healing. This event, which replaces the previously scheduled "Yeongyang Wild Greens Festival" due to the recent wildfire, will take place for three days from May 9 to 11 in front of Yeongyang County Office and surrounding areas.
This event is designed as a special gathering centered on empathy and healing, moving away from the traditional festival format to emphasize overcoming the wildfire disaster together.
The venue will feature a themed exhibition hall sharing information about wildfire damage, along with a donation booth for wildfire relief where visitors can express their support and share a sense of solidarity and hope.
In particular, the "Wild Greens Street," themed around Yeongyang's signature spring wild greens, will showcase a variety of dishes highlighting their fresh aromas and flavors. The "Meat Grill Zone," set up to promote wild greens sales, will offer a hands-on barbecue experience, creating a memorable space for families to enjoy together.
Additionally, the event will include a wide range of food options, on-site experiences, and direct sales booths run by local merchants, all structured to meaningfully support the recovery of the local economy and reinforce the spirit of moving forward together.
A Yeongyang County official stated, "This year, rather than a festival for enjoyment, we hope this gathering will be a time to share and overcome our pain together. We wish for this event to become a new starting point of hope toward green mountains and a smiling Yeongyang."
