Woori Bank Eliminates Unnecessary Personnel Information... Strengthens 'Performance-Centered' HR

Woori Bank announced on the 14th that it will remove personnel information such as educational background, military service, and place of origin, which are less relevant to job performance, from employee personnel cards to establish a performance-oriented organizational culture.

Until now, personnel cards have been used as basic data for employee management. In addition to information related to job performance such as work experience, certifications, and awards, they also included information that could cause prejudice, such as educational background, military service, and place of origin. This measure reflects the personnel philosophy of President Jeong Jin-wan, who aims to establish a performance-oriented personnel culture that 'competes based on ability' by decisively deleting such conventional information.

Since the beginning of this year, Woori Bank has been operating a 'Self-Development Challenge' that sets individual training and certification goals to strengthen employees' professional capabilities. In particular, employees who obtain multiple certifications are given special preferential treatment in personnel matters, such as awards and bonuses, actively encouraging self-development.

Additionally, recently, actual career growth cases of leaders within the organization, such as executives and department heads, have been introduced in an easy-to-understand manner, gaining great interest and positive responses from employees.

A Woori Bank official stated, "We will continue to promote personnel policies to fully support the growth of 'employees who perform well' and to ensure fair rewards and preferential treatment for their efforts and achievements."
