Ulsan City announced that the '3rd Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Policy Council' will be held at 11 a.m. on the 7th floor video conference room of Busan City Hall on the 14th.

Marking the second year since the launch of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Economic Alliance, this meeting was organized to strengthen cooperation and communication. Attendees will include Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom, Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon, Gyeongnam Governor Park Wansu, and about 10 others including the heads of planning and coordination offices from Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam.

The meeting will proceed with reports on the achievements and future plans of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Economic Alliance, discussions on major collaborative projects, and the announcement of a joint statement by the mayors and governor of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam.

During the meeting, participants will discuss collaborative projects in response to the launch of the new government and propose their inclusion in presidential campaign pledges.

Additionally, a joint statement will be announced, consolidating the opinions of the mayors and governor of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, requesting measures to overcome challenging times, realize the value of local autonomy, and promote balanced regional development.

Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom stated, "This policy council is a meaningful opportunity to discuss the future direction of the economic alliance," and added, "We will continue to cooperate so that the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Economic Alliance can lead the era of local autonomy and the super-regional economy, expand local authority, and open a true era of local governance."

The Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Super-Regional Economic Alliance, which prioritizes the creation of practical cooperative achievements among Ulsan, Busan, and Gyeongnam, was launched on March 29, 2023. Since then, it has been identifying and promoting various joint projects for mutual development in the region.

So far, a super-regional development plan (2023-2027) has been established, and annual implementation plans are being drawn up to ensure efficient promotion and execution.

In particular, the alliance has selected 14 key projects across three main sectors, promoted projects with tangible benefits for local residents, and secured 925.9 billion KRW through joint efforts to obtain national funding, all contributing to the mutual development of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam.
