Dobong-gu Office Transforms into a Venue for Children's Safety Education

From April 21 to 22, Dobong-gu Office in Seoul will transform into a venue for children's safety education. Over the two days, the Dobong-gu Office plaza and various indoor spaces will be set up as areas for children to experience safety firsthand.

Various booths will be operated to spark children's interest, including disaster evacuation experiences using air bouncers, where they can learn essential safety knowledge needed in real situations.

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced that it will hold the 'Dobong-gu Children's Safety Expo' around Dobong-gu Office from April 21 to 22.

The Dobong-gu Children's Safety Expo started in 2023 and is now in its third year. Since 2024, it has been jointly held with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety after being selected for the ministry's 'Visiting Safety Experience Classroom' public contest project.

This year, the event will be even more enriched. Programs will be offered in four main areas: daily life safety, fire safety, traffic safety, and natural disasters. These include elevator safety, escape using descent devices, fire extinguisher usage, disaster prevention virtual reality (VR) experiences, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) programs.

Additionally, there will be sessions on how to handle safety accidents at camping sites, how to respond to elevator entrapment incidents, and safety puppet shows aimed at protecting children’s personal safety, all reflecting situations children may encounter in daily life.

The expo is open to all children aged 12 and under. Participation is on-site only, so no prior registration is required. Detailed information about the programs can be found on the district’s official website.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "It is important to acquire safety-related knowledge from an early age," adding, "I hope this expo will serve as an opportunity for children to develop the ability to protect themselves and establish safe living habits."
