Geochang Police Station Launches Full-Scale Crackdown System for 21st Presidential Election Violations

Establishing a 24-Hour Response System for Election-Related Crimes

Gyeongnam Geochang Police Station announced on the 14th that it held a signboard unveiling ceremony for the Election Crime Investigation Situation Room, attended by the department heads and criminal investigation team leaders, in preparation for the 21st presidential election to be held on June 3, establishing a 24-hour response system for election-related crimes.

According to the police, the Election Crime Investigation Situation Room has been set up in the office of the Integrated Investigation Team of the Investigation Department, and a 24-hour readiness system will be maintained. The team will handle all reports related to the election as well as collaborate with relevant organizations such as the Geochang County Election Commission.


Meanwhile, the police have formed a joint investigation task force for election crimes, consisting of 16 members from the investigation and criminal departments, and have begun full-scale enforcement activities, including strengthening intelligence gathering.


Park Kyungjun, Chief of Police, urged, "As this election is being held amid social unrest and a tight schedule, please fulfill your roles and responsibilities with strict neutrality."
