Exhibition Begins on the 13th, Runs for 184 Days
158 Countries, Regions, and International Organizations Participate Worldwide

The Korea Pavilion showcasing Korea's future technology and values opened on the 13th at the Osaka-Kansai Expo (Osaka Expo) held in Osaka, Japan, until October.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) held the '2025 Korea Pavilion Opening Ceremony' on the day of the Osaka Expo opening and began the 184-day exhibition operation.

This Osaka Expo, themed "Designing Future Society Where Life Shines," is held for six months from this day until October 13 on Yumeshima, an artificial island in western Osaka. A total of 158 countries, regions, and international organizations worldwide are participating.

Korea opened its pavilion inside the 'Grand Ring,' the core architectural structure of this Expo. The Korea Pavilion is composed of three exhibition halls under the theme "With Hearts."

Its goal is to convey a message that connects tradition and modernity, people and technology, Korea and the world with "sincerity," based on Korea's unique affection and craftsmanship, technology, and commitment to a sustainable future.

The Korea Pavilion was built on a total site of 3,501㎡ and features a large media facade showcasing the four seasons' nature, cultural heritage, and cutting-edge technology through video.

Architecturally, it expresses the beauty of Korea through white finishing materials, Hansan Mosi (fine ramie fabric), Hanbok jeogori (jacket), and Cheongsachorong (traditional Korean lanterns).

Following the official opening ceremony the previous day, about 70 people attended the Korea Pavilion opening ceremony, including key Korean figures such as Choi Nam-ho, 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Kang Kyung-sung, President of KOTRA, Jin Chang-su, Consul General in Osaka, and Japanese officials including Hirofumi Yoshimura, Governor of Osaka Prefecture.

Vice Minister Choi said, "I hope the Korea Pavilion at the Osaka Expo, themed on Korea's sincerity, will become a medium connecting not only Korea-Japan friendship but also the whole world. We will do our best to ensure that this Expo leads to expanded practical exchanges such as trade and investment between Korea and Japan."

Governor Yoshimura said about the Korea Pavilion, "The large screen installed on the building's wall is very impressive, and I am confident it will be an exhibition hall where many people gather and connect. The Expo is a compass for future society that presents technologies and directions to solve various challenges humanity faces."
