Pohang City is working to promote healing agriculture using chrysanthemums, aiming to foster the emotional well-being of its citizens and advance the floriculture industry.

To this end, the city is conducting a chrysanthemum-based healing agriculture program at Lake Healing Farm in Bonggye-ri, Gigye-myeon, on the second Thursday of each month starting from the 10th, for a total of eight sessions.
Participants will handle chrysanthemums directly, gaining knowledge of chrysanthemum bonsai through hands-on activities such as rock planting, pinching, and shaping, and will have the opportunity to create their own chrysanthemum works.
This program is expected to go beyond simple horticultural education, contributing to the physical and emotional healing of citizens, improving quality of life, and raising awareness of 'healing agriculture' as a new multifaceted value in farming.
It is also anticipated to increase citizens' interest in chrysanthemums, broaden the base of the floriculture industry, and become a new growth engine for local agriculture.
Lee Hyunju, Director of the Agricultural Technology Center, said, "I hope this chrysanthemum healing agriculture program will bring agriculture closer to citizens and serve as a medium to enrich their lives," adding, "We will continue to discover and operate various healing agriculture programs in the future."
