Chairman Kim has been the team owner for 40 years since the founding and has held a 10% stake in the team since 1993. According to the company, he frequently visits the baseball team to encourage the players and connect with the fans so that Hanwha Eagles can regain the prestige they had when they won the championship in 1999.
Hanwha Group stated, "Chairman Kim has earned the nickname 'Victory Fairy' from fans due to the higher winning percentage when he visits the stadium compared to usual." On the 11th, Hanwha defeated the Kiwoom Heroes 12-2, led by Ryu Hyun-jin's scoreless pitching and hits from all starting players.
