Card Payment Available for Special-Sized Bags at Community Service Centers from April 14
10L for 1,020 KRW, 20L for 2,040 KRW, Up to 5 Bags Per Person
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will fully implement credit card payment services for special-sized bags at community service centers.
Previously, residents experienced inconvenience as only cash payments were accepted when purchasing special-sized bags at community service centers. The district has prepared dedicated card terminals so that residents can purchase special-sized bags not only with cash but also by card.
Reflecting opinions proposed in the resident deliberation budget project last May, after budgeting this year and going through preparation stages such as opening dedicated accounts, 11 three-inch card terminals were installed at 11 community service centers, including the Doksan 1-dong branch.
Special-sized bags can be used when disposing of waste that is difficult to put in volume-based bags, such as broken glass, cat litter, and interior materials. They can be purchased at 1,020 KRW for 10ℓ and 2,040 KRW for 20ℓ, with a limit of up to 5 bags per person.
A district official stated, "By introducing the card payment system, residents can purchase special-sized bags using the more convenient method between cash and card, reducing procedures such as change exchange and improving administrative efficiency."
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "We will continue to identify and improve residents' inconveniences to make Geumcheon a better city."
