Gwangju University (President Kim Dongjin) announced on the 12th that it held the '2025 Jeonnam Nonghyup Farming Support Launch Ceremony' to promote rural culture and welfare.
The launch ceremony, held on the 10th in Daedong-myeon, Hampyeong-gun, Jeonnam, was attended by 26 students from the Student Council and Student Welfare Committee, as well as 3 faculty members. The event was organized by the Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of Nonghyup, with officials from Nonghyup and related organizations present to encourage the participants.
The participating students from Gwangju University expressed their commitment to ▲helping alleviate labor shortages in rural areas ▲enhancing rural culture and welfare through talent donations ▲raising awareness of the importance of agriculture. After the ceremony, the participants volunteered to harvest early onions at nearby farms.
An Sunwoo, President of the Gwangju University Student Council, stated, "As university students, we will strive to understand the public value of agriculture and foster a sense of community together with the local society."
A representative of Gwangju University said, "We plan to continue providing hands-on volunteer activities in connection with the local community in the future."
