On the 10th, the city invited Park Eungnyeol, former Director of the Yeongsangang River Basin Environmental Office, to give a special lecture for public officials under the theme "Leave, Travel Alone" at the city hall's main conference room.

During the lecture, Park shared vivid experiences from his journey on the Camino de Santiago in Spain, which he undertook while preparing for a new chapter in life after retiring from public service.

He said, "Walking 800 kilometers over about 30 days allowed me to face myself and reflect deeply on the true direction of my life," emphasizing, "Public officials also need moments of contemplation and challenge away from their daily routines."

The lecture resonated with attendees as Park recounted various anecdotes from his pilgrimage, as well as the concerns and turning points he experienced as a public official. During the subsequent Q&A session, he offered insights on life and practical advice, further energizing the atmosphere.

Shin Hyunkook, Mayor of Mungyeong, stated, "I sincerely thank Director Park Eungnyeol for visiting Mungyeong and delivering such a profound lecture despite his busy schedule," adding, "I hope today's lecture inspires our public officials to view life from a new perspective."

Meanwhile, Park currently operates the "Santiago School" in Gwangju and Bucheon, actively pursuing his second career by providing practical information and mentoring to those preparing for the pilgrimage.
