A passenger electric train derailed again on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line in Paju-si, Gyeonggi Province. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport immediately responded to the scene after the accident.
On the 11th at around 3:26 PM, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it had immediately dispatched the Director of Railway Safety Policy, railway safety inspectors, and railway police to the site of the passenger train derailment that occurred on the up line section between Wollong Station and Geumchon Station on the Gyeongui Line, and urgently activated the Railway Disaster Safety Situation Room. The ministry explained that it is making every effort to manage the accident and investigate the cause.

KORAIL deployed an initial response team to safely disembark all passengers and arranged transfers by bus. The section from Munsan to Geumchon, including the accident area, is currently operating one shuttle train set in both directions using the down line. The section from Geumchon Station to Paldang Station is maintaining a repeated operation system.
Jung Eui-gyeong, Director of Railway Safety Policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, "Following yesterday’s freight train derailment, the Ministry is taking the passenger train derailment today very seriously. We will thoroughly identify the cause of the accident and take firm and strict measures in accordance with relevant laws and regulations."
