Statement Released Through Legal Team

Former President Yoon Seok-yeol stated on the 11th, "I will return as a citizen of the Republic of Korea and seek a new path for the country and its people."
On the same day, before leaving the Hannam-dong residence and moving to his private residence in Seocho-dong, former President Yoon conveyed this message through a statement distributed by his legal team, saying, "I am leaving the residence today. I am truly grateful for everything during this time."
He also said, "For the Republic of Korea of freedom and prosperity that the people and I have dreamed of together, I will spare no effort, however small."
Former President Yoon reflected, "Over the past two and a half years, I met with many world leaders here at the Hannam-dong residence," adding, "The moments when I strived to protect our national interests and security flash through my mind like a revolving lantern."
He continued, "Last winter, many citizens and young people stood guard day and night in front of the Hannam-dong residence with the determination to defend freedom and sovereignty," and said, "I still deeply cherish the passionate enthusiasm that even melted the cold weather."
