Gokseong County in Jeollanam-do and Crown Haitai announced on the 11th that they will hold the "Gyeonsaeng Sculpture Exhibition" at the Gokseongcheon area of Ttukbang Market in Gokseong-eup until June 10.

The Gyeonsaeng Sculpture Exhibition is a large-scale outdoor sculpture exhibition that carries the meaning of "seeing brings vitality." The name was inspired by a viewer at Seoul Severance Hospital in 2017 who said, "Looking at the sculptures, I feel a surge of life."

This year's participating artists are renowned sculptors who are actively engaged in creative activities both in Korea and abroad, including Kim Seongsu, Kim Sukbin, Kim Wongeun, Kim Taemin, Ryu Jongwon, Moon Min, Park Minseop, Park Jungyong, Shim Eunseok, Oh Saemun, Yoon Seonjong, Lee Yongtae, Lee Il, Lee Changhee, Jang Wonmo, Jeon Baekjin, Jeon Sindeok, Jung Chanu, Jung Chunil, and Cho Yuna. They will present 20 unique works featuring a variety of themes and materials.

The Gokseongcheon area is expected to be transformed into an outdoor sculpture park where natural scenery and artworks harmonize. In particular, during the exhibition period, the "Ttukbang Market" held every Saturday at Gokseongcheon and the "Gokseong World Rose Festival" starting on May 16 will provide a wide range of attractions for residents and tourists alongside the Gyeonsaeng Sculpture Exhibition.

Sculptor Park Jungyong (Professor at Jeonnam National University College of Arts) shared his thoughts on the exhibition, saying, "I participate in the Gokseong Gyeonsaeng Sculpture Exhibition every year, and I am proud as an artist to receive curious and positive feedback from those who appreciate the works. I hope everyone can be intoxicated by the scent of cultural Gokseong while enjoying the artworks on a warm spring day in full bloom."
