On the 11th, Seo-gu District Office of Gwangju (District Mayor Kim Ikang) conducted fire safety and crime prevention training for apartment complex managers and related personnel at the performance hall on the 2nd floor of the Seo-gu Cultural Center.
According to the district office, this training was carried out in cooperation with the Seobu Police Station and Seobu Fire Station. It was organized to alleviate heightened anxiety due to recent apartment fires and to strengthen practical on-site response capabilities.

Approximately 200 people, including facility safety managers and security managers from 166 mandatory management apartment complexes in the district, participated in the event.
The training focused on practical topics, including: ▲life safety education such as CPR and first aid ▲response to apartment fires and in-unit inspection methods ▲crime prevention techniques through improvement of apartment environments ▲legal knowledge useful in daily life, such as CCTV access, and more.
Yoon Okmin, head of the Housing Division, stated, "The role of managers is more important than ever in creating a safe residential environment in apartment complexes," and added, "We will continue to provide training to enhance the expertise and sense of responsibility of managers, so that all residents can live with peace of mind."
Meanwhile, security managers and facility safety managers of mandatory management apartment complexes?including those with over 300 units, those with over 150 units with elevators, and those with over 150 units with central heating?are required to receive annual crime prevention and safety training.
