Promoting 14 Projects in 3 Key Areas... 610.77 Million KRW in Support
Actively Discovering Local Resources and Connecting Them to Education... Joint Growth of Community and Schools
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is officially launching the operation of the '2025 Gwangjin Future Education District,' a collaboration between the local community and schools to nurture future talents.
The operation plan for the Gwangjin Future Education District is a project that concretizes the vision of 'Cultural Education City Gwangjin,' a core strategy of the 8th elected administration. Under the theme of 'Gwangjin Future Education: Learning and Growing Together,' the local community and schools will join forces to cultivate future talents.
This year, Gwangjin-gu will invest a total budget of 610.77 million KRW to promote 14 detailed projects centered on three main tasks: strengthening local cooperation, operating and supporting local-linked curricula, and establishing and operating a local-linked student growth support system.
As a new project this year, a total budget of 60 million KRW will be provided to ensure safe field trips at schools. Additionally, through customized educational programs visiting schools, students will naturally learn character education, digital ethics, violence prevention, as well as self-directed learning methods and time management skills.
The district operates a program to discover excellent human resources in the local community and nurture them as village instructors linked with schools. To support cultural, arts, and sports village instructor activities and school clubs, as well as school community programs, 220 million KRW has been allocated to schools this year.
Moreover, 67 million KRW will be invested to support 20 'Village Schools.' Through these 'Village Schools,' which utilize local human and material resources, various experiential programs such as art, cooking, and science?difficult to access at school?will be offered.
Alongside this, 21.5 million KRW will be provided to 16 youth autonomous clubs called 'Gwangcle.' These clubs will also have the opportunity to present their achievements from the year at the '2025 Gwangjin Future Education Youth Festival.'
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, stated, "We thoroughly analyzed the effects of last year's projects and reflected the needs of the educational field in the new projects. We will continue to do our best to create an educational environment that genuinely helps children realize their dreams."
