Acting Mayor Lee Jaehun began his official duties and worked towards stabilizing city administration by convening an emergency expanded executive meeting and directing a review of key issues following the transition to an acting mayor system, which started on March 13 after former Mayor Park Namseo lost his position.

Since then, he has continuously held executive meetings and emphasized the steady advancement of city administration, focusing administrative efforts on establishing discipline among public officials, addressing key issues, and implementing policies to minimize any gaps in operations.

During the past month, Acting Mayor Lee has visited sites of major regional projects to check on their progress and identify any problems, implementing a field-oriented approach to city governance.

He prioritized visiting major project sites and locations closely related to citizens' daily lives to identify potential issues in advance and develop measures to minimize inconvenience to residents during the implementation process.

In particular, he actively visited key project sites such as the Station Area Parking Tower, New Village Project, The Eum Community Center Construction, Population Vitality Center, Sangmang-dong Our Neighborhood Revitalization Project, Agricultural Machinery Rental Business Hub Center Construction, and the Regional Vitality Town site, thereby strengthening the foundation for these initiatives through proactive on-site administration.

Through these efforts, Acting Mayor Lee has called for meticulous management of project schedules and safety, as well as careful measures to minimize inconvenience to citizens caused by construction, emphasizing the need for practical improvements through communication with on-site personnel.

Additionally, during the recent large-scale wildfire in Gyeongbuk, he closely monitored the situation, convened emergency meetings to enable a preemptive response, designated evacuation shelters for each region, and established cooperation systems with relevant agencies such as the police and fire departments, ensuring a swift and coordinated response.

Furthermore, with the national wildfire disaster crisis alert remaining at a severe level, he has been thoroughly operating a preventive system to ensure no local damage occurs from wildfires, implementing comprehensive policies to address related issues without any gaps.

In addition, with the presidential election scheduled for June 3, he is making thorough preparations for voting and urging strict political neutrality and discipline among public officials, ensuring that no detail, large or small, is overlooked in the city’s administration.

Acting Mayor Lee stated, "Yeongju City is a solid organization that does not easily falter. Based on the professional knowledge accumulated by public officials so far, we will ensure the predictability and consistency of our policies and operate the organization in a stable manner."
