The district has appointed residential safety managers qualified as licensed real estate agents and has been operating the 'Jeonwolse Safe Contract Assistance Service' since July 2022 to prevent Jeonse fraud targeting vulnerable groups lacking real estate information.
Through consultations, the service supports residents in Jeonwolse contracts and housing searches, accompanies them for house viewings and contract drafting, and provides guidance on various housing support policies. Since 2023, the service has been expanded to operate a 'Visiting Jeonwolse Safe Contract Assistance Service' targeting university students vulnerable to real estate information.
Starting this year, free legal consultations regarding the Housing Lease Protection Act and related matters are additionally supported in cooperation with the Korea Real Estate Board (Seoul East Branch Lease Dispute Mediation Committee). The district will hold the 'Visiting Jeonwolse Safe Contract Assistance Service' in front of the student union buildings at Myongji University and Yonsei University from 2 to 5 p.m. on the 28th and 29th of this month, respectively.
Online pre-registration (https://naver.me/xExDlvXg) is accepted, and applicants can select the consultation topics they wish to receive, such as lease contract consultation, how to view official contract registries, free legal consultation, and Jeonse damage claims.
The Seodaemun-gu 'Jeonwolse Safe Contract Assistance Service' is available via phone or face-to-face consultations on Mondays and Thursdays between 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. On Saturdays, the 'Residential Safety Accompaniment' service is provided. Those wishing to use the service can apply through the Seoul City Single-Person Household Portal (https://1in.seoul.go.kr) or the Seodaemun-gu Office Real Estate Information Division (02-330-1451).
Mayor Lee Seongheon said, "We expect this service to help prevent residents from real estate contract damages and contribute to stable housing."
