The research team evaluated that the Constitutional Court's decision, the first in Asia, to rule certain climate-related legal provisions unconstitutional is a precedent that strengthens intergenerational equity and democratic responsibility in responding to climate change.

The researchers stated, "This precedent goes beyond short-term policy-level climate responses and establishes a constitutional foundation for legally binding long-term climate goals."

The research team predicted that this ruling, which demonstrated that national climate policies can be enforced according to legal principles, will promote similar legal responses internationally and lead to an expansion of global climate litigation.
