"AI but keeps calling it A1"... Someone saw it was the Minister of Education

Linda McMahon, U.S. Secretary of Education, Calls AI "A1"
Mistakenly Refers to AI as "A1" During Discussion on AI Learning
U.S. Media: "She Called It A1, Like Steak Sauce"

Linda McMahon, U.S. Secretary of Education, became the center of controversy for pronouncing artificial intelligence, AI, as A1 at the world's largest edutech conference, the 'ASU+GSV Summit.'

On the 11th (local time), U.S. IT media TechCrunch reported, "McMahon repeatedly referred to AI as A1, like A1 steak sauce, during a panel discussion on artificial intelligence (AI)."

On that day, McMahon discussed the impact of AI learning with experts in education and technology. According to the report, she initially said AI at the start of the discussion but gradually confused it with 'A1,' speaking inconsistently.

She said, "I heard there is a school system that conducts A1 classes every year from kindergarten to first grade," adding, "That's really wonderful."

She also said, "Until recently, I wondered if our schools could have internet installed, and now it has become a reality," and asked, "How can A1 help (in education)?"

TechCrunch stated, "Since AI is such a widely used term, this mistake feels similar to a professional athlete calling Major League Baseball the 'NFL.' While no one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes occasionally, it is somewhat shocking to hear the Secretary of Education say something like this."
