According to a Democratic Party official on the 11th, the Science Committee and Growth Committee will visit the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute located in Daejeon on the morning of the 15th to hold an on-site meeting with industry workers. The schedule includes the attendance of Lee Eon-ju, the chairperson of the Growth Committee and senior party member, and Hwang Jeong-ah, the chairperson of the Science Committee and member of the National Assembly.

With the early presidential election approaching, the party is continuing activities to develop pledges. Through this visit to Daejeon, the Democratic Party plans to discuss the promotion of the nuclear industry and regulatory improvements.

A key official from the special committees stated, "Discussions are expected regarding safety and promotion issues such as Small Modular Reactors (SMR) and next-generation nuclear power plant construction," adding, "Since there is curiosity about the party's stance on nuclear power, we will have discussions that can provide answers." The Democratic Party's policy direction on nuclear power is expected to become more concrete.

Another official from the special committees said, "Rather than creating policies for a specific candidate, we will develop policies to propose to the Democratic Party candidate after the primary election."

They are also scheduled to visit the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Central Research Institute in Daejeon to discuss the Democratic Party's energy transition policies and renewable energy policies.
