Polaris AI announced on the 11th that it has signed a partnership agreement with Sixfab, a global Internet of Things (IoT) and edge computing specialist company.
This partnership is part of a collaboration to meet the increasing demand for smart transformation in domestic public and industrial sectors and to fulfill the need for stable, field-centered edge computing infrastructure.
Sixfab is a global company supplying IoT hardware based on Raspberry Pi, providing optimized equipment for various IoT applications such as remote control, data collection, and real-time monitoring.
Recently, as the demand for digital transformation (DT) has increased across various industries, Sixfab has been leading innovation in edge computing and digital twin technologies, expanding applications into smart cities and industrial automation sectors.
Edge computing processes data not on a central server but at points close to the end application (the edge), enabling faster processing and avoiding cloud transit, which also offers advantages in cybersecurity, drawing significant attention.
Polaris AI has been granted exclusive distribution rights for Sixfab’s key edge devices in Korea and plans to provide technical support for the industrial edge computing device ALPON X4, supplying localized solutions across diverse industries including public institutions, smart cities, manufacturing, smart factories, distribution, and retail.
In particular, public offices are expected to benefit from AI-powered automated document processing for building smart administrative systems, cybersecurity, and on-premise AI chatbots.
Representative use cases also include intelligent IoT (AIoT) gateway construction for smart administrative systems, real-time automatic control solutions through energy usage analysis, edge AI-based CCTV security systems, and environmental monitoring devices for air and water quality management.
Vice President Byun Ji-woong of Polaris AI stated, "Through this collaboration with Sixfab, we will provide edge computing solutions optimized for the domestic industrial environment and contribute to digital transformation in public and industrial sectors. Going forward, Polaris AI will discover AIoT solutions with Sixfab’s support and grow as a specialized AI company."
Meanwhile, Polaris Office Group has established an AI Convergence Research Institute centered on Polaris Office, which collaborates with various AI companies such as Naver Cloud and LG AI Research. Utilizing Polaris AI’s system integration (SI) references, the group is pursuing vertical AI by applying AI across industries through affiliates like Polaris Sewon, Polaris Uno, and Polaris AI Pharma, promoting mutual growth within the group.
