Gyeonggi-do's First 'New Middle-Aged Retirement Preparation Support Center' Opens in Bucheon... One-Stop Support

The first regional Senior Preparation Support Center in Gyeonggi Province has opened in Bucheon. On the 10th, Bucheon City held an opening ceremony for the 'Senior Preparation Support Center' on the 3rd floor of the Boksagol Culture Center and began full-scale operations.


The center provides various information through specialized counseling for seniors and offers necessary services in a one-stop manner. In particular, it operates a senior preparation council to establish a cooperative system between public and private institutions, serving as a hub that connects and provides senior-related information and services.

The city plans to actively support seniors to systematically prepare for their later years through various projects such as senior preparation counseling, job linkage, and social activity support.


The opening ceremony was attended by Cho Yong-ik, Mayor of Bucheon, Kim Byeong-jeon, Chairman of Bucheon City Council, Lee Geon-tae, Member of the National Assembly, and officials from related organizations. The event included an unveiling ceremony and a tour of the center. Additionally, the 'Senior Preparation Information Fair' was held simultaneously, featuring various booths covering the four major areas of senior preparation: finance, health, leisure, and interpersonal relationships, as well as job opportunities and mental health.


A total of 14 organizations participated in the booths, including Coupang, CU, the Bucheon branch of the National Pension Service, the Workers' Welfare Center, and the Bucheon Dementia Relief Center. They offered job and employment/startup counseling, resume coaching, senior preparation counseling, and experiential events such as flower tea and hand-drip coffee tasting, which received positive responses.


Mayor Cho said, "The center will be a platform supporting seniors' life transitions and successful preparation for later years. We will continue to do our best to help the senior generation live confidently and vibrantly through various programs and customized support."
