Ulsan City and the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) are joining forces to establish Ulsan as a baseball hub city.

On April 11 at 11 a.m., a memorandum of understanding (MOU) will be signed at the mayor's office on the 7th floor of Ulsan City Hall, with Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom and KBO Commissioner Heo Koo-yeon in attendance, to foster Ulsan as a baseball hub and promote mutual cooperation.

This agreement aims to develop Ulsan as a leading baseball hub in Korea and to elevate the 'Ulsan-KBO Autumn Classic (Poligue) International Baseball Tournament' into a world-class educational league, similar to Japan's Phoenix League and the Arizona Fall League in the United States.

The '2025 Ulsan-KBO Autumn Classic International Baseball Tournament' is scheduled to take place over 19 days from October 15 to November 2 at Ulsan Munsu Baseball Stadium and other venues, featuring a total of 68 games with participation from five domestic teams and more than five international teams.

Under the agreement, both organizations will collaborate to strengthen the competitiveness of Korean baseball, build baseball infrastructure, and revitalize the local economy.

The agreement includes: ▲ Developing the 'Ulsan-KBO Autumn Classic (Poligue) International Baseball Tournament' into a world-class event ▲ Cooperating to make Munsu Baseball Stadium the best possible venue ▲ Collaborating to promote professional baseball and expand the baseball fan base.

Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom stated, "Through this agreement, I hope Ulsan can become a leading city for the development of Korean baseball," adding, "We will actively support the Ulsan-KBO Autumn Classic International Baseball Tournament so that it can grow into a world-class educational league."

KBO Commissioner Heo Koo-yeon said, "Ulsan is the ideal location for a baseball league in terms of climate, location, baseball infrastructure, and administrative support," and added, "With this agreement, we will work together to shape the future of Korean baseball."

Ulsan City plans to expand baseball-related infrastructure by increasing the seating capacity of Munsu Baseball Stadium by 6,000 seats and constructing a youth hostel that can accommodate about 300 people by 2027.
