Dobong-gu to Conduct Comprehensive Survey of Households Excluded from Customized Benefits
922 Households Disqualified Last Year to Have Income and Assets Reverified
Guidance Provided via Phone Calls and Notices for Households Whose Disqualification Reasons Have Been Resolved
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has rolled up its sleeves to restore welfare rights to households that were excluded from the selection for customized benefits.
The district plans to conduct a full survey of these households and provide the corresponding welfare services promptly if they fall within the scope of the system.
A district official stated, "We plan to review the eligibility of those who were not eligible for customized benefits last year or whose benefits were suspended, based on the current year's criteria, and provide support such as guidance for reapplication."
To this end, a full survey of 922 households excluded from the 2024 customized benefits will be conducted. The survey will focus on verifying the income and assets of the excluded households.
For households whose reasons for exclusion have been resolved, reapplication will be guided through phone calls and sending application notices.
For those near the eligibility threshold, the district will verify household characteristics and income and asset details, then provide tailored rights protection support according to the selection criteria for each benefit.
This approach improves the issue of application caution regarding customized benefits and is expected to complement the shortcomings of the current system.
Among those deemed ineligible or whose benefits were suspended, if they qualify for other support such as the near-poor category or Seoul-type basic livelihood security, linkage will be processed ex officio without a separate application.
Additionally, if the individual meets the criteria for customized benefits but cannot receive support due to the criteria for obligated supporters, the case will be submitted to the Local Livelihood Security Committee for deliberation to seek relief measures.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "There are still many socially vulnerable groups in economic hardship who need help. The district intends to respond quickly and provide support to them," adding, "We will continue to do our best to promote related projects so that all residents can enjoy their everyday welfare rights without any omissions."
