Business Agreement Signed with Specialized Training Institution, Field-Oriented Practical Education Provided
Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it has signed a business agreement with a drone specialized training institution to foster talent in the 4th industrial sector and enhance the employment competitiveness of residents, and will operate practical training for drone certification acquisition and maintenance.
Drones are utilized in various fields such as disaster response, defense, logistics, and agriculture, establishing themselves as core technologies of future industries. Although the drone market is rapidly growing, there is still a shortage of personnel to lead this industry.
In response to the changing industrial environment, the district signed a business agreement with Gunjiptek, a nationally designated drone specialized training institution, on the 24th of last month to provide systematic drone education to residents. This aims to equip residents with the certifications and practical skills necessary for the 4th industrial era, thereby strengthening their employment capabilities and competitiveness.
This training, titled "Acquisition of Class 3 Drone Certification and Practical Maintenance," will be conducted in five cohorts from the 21st of this month to June 23rd. The program focuses on practical education such as certification acquisition, maintenance, and aerial photography, enabling immediate application in the field. A total of 25 participants will be recruited, and the training is completely free of charge. Applications can be submitted from the 14th to the 17th via the district’s website on the "Our District News" bulletin board.
Additionally, residents can take drone certification acquisition and practical courses offered by Gunjiptek at discounted prices.
The district will collaborate with related institutions and companies to establish a job linkage system to help residents who complete the drone training successfully find employment. Furthermore, customized special lectures and hands-on experiences will be provided for elementary, middle, and high school students as well as the general public to easily access drone technology.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, "This training will serve as a valuable stepping stone for residents preparing for employment to grow into key personnel leading future industries. We will prepare various educational programs to help them gain competitiveness in the rapidly changing job market and find jobs suited to their aptitudes."
