A Bit Heavy for One-Handed Use: A Minor Flaw
Vacuum cleaners are a representative home appliance that has rapidly evolved to meet the demands of the times. The 'corded vacuum cleaner' with wheels that I used to push and wrap the electric cord around with my parents when I was young has long become a relic of the past. Before I knew it, the cords disappeared, vacuum cleaners became 'robotic,' and now artificial intelligence (AI) has been integrated. While 'robot vacuum cleaners' have become widespread, 'stick vacuum cleaners' continue to evolve and sell. It is probably because of their unique charm. There is a certain pleasure in pushing a stick vacuum cleaner forward and pulling it back. Those who call cleaning a hobby are deeply immersed in that pleasure.
The reporter feels the same way. Although there is a robot vacuum cleaner at home, a stick vacuum cleaner is also used separately. In fact, the stick vacuum cleaner is used more frequently. It is more convenient for immediately cleaning whenever dust or stains are visible or come to mind.

Samsung Electronics has been selling the 'Bespoke AI Jet 400W' since the 1st of this month. It is a new product boasting advanced AI features and the world's best suction power. The first impression was, "That thing really looks like a sniper rifle," a common feeling before using a stick vacuum cleaner for the first time. If you consider cleaning as a 'war against dust,' this is a natural thought that comes to mind. The method of combining the handle, battery, and suction head was very simple. Just push them into the designated position, and each part fit securely. There were six suction heads available for different purposes such as general cleaning and wet mopping. It was convenient to select the desired function with the thumb of the hand holding the handle. There were three buttons in total: minus, plus, and power. Sometimes products have too many buttons when trying to incorporate multiple functions, but this vacuum cleaner had only three, making it simple and quick to learn. The functions included General, AI Mode, Strong, Ultra Strong, and Jet.

First, I tried cleaning the living room and bedroom in AI mode. According to Samsung Electronics, this product uses 'AI Mode 2.0' to automatically adjust suction power according to the cleaning environment. In practice, the vacuum cleaner changed its cleaning method on its own depending on the situation, without needing manual adjustment or requests. When moving from a carpeted floor to a hardwood floor, the dust suction level and cleaning time requirements changed. When moving from the bare floor to the molding where the floor meets the wall, the vacuum cleaner changed its method once again. This allowed the product to save a lot of battery power. Due to consistent suction power, unnecessary exertion during cleaning was reduced, allowing the battery's energy to be maintained for a longer time. Starting at 100% charge, even after cleaning for a relatively long time, the vacuum cleaner still maintained 80-90% battery power when placed back in the Clean Station.
The dust suction power was quite strong, evoking a sense of 'pleasure.' Samsung Electronics pointed out suction power as the biggest attraction of this product. By improving the motor structure, which is the core of suction power, they enhanced suction by 29% compared to the 310W suction power of last year's Bespoke AI Jet. The 400W suction power is among the highest in the world compared to cordless vacuum cleaners on the market offering over 280W. You can experience this suction power when using the product in 'Ultra Strong' mode. It was especially noticeable when cleaning places where dust usually accumulates but is often neglected, such as beds, sofas, and gaps under furniture. The 'sok-sok' sound of dust and various debris being sucked into the vacuum cleaner from under the sofa was thrillingly satisfying.

The Clean Station also checks the vacuum cleaner's safety status whenever the user wants. It self-monitors the battery status with a 'BMS (Battery Management System)' and preemptively controls overcharging, discharging, and overheating. If there are no issues, it kindly notifies the user with the message, "Diagnosis complete. Use with confidence."
One minor flaw was weight distribution. Samsung Electronics optimized the motor weight from 150g in the previous 310W model to 148g in this new 400W model while increasing suction power. If you had used the previous product and then the new one, you might have felt the weight reduction, but from the perspective of someone who only used the new product, it did not feel particularly light. Holding it with one hand for a long time made the wrist somewhat tired. It felt strenuous and stiff. Holding the handle with the right hand and supporting the vacuum body with the left hand made cleaning a bit less tiring and more stable. I agree that some weight must be accepted to incorporate AI and other advanced features and core components. However, I hope future stick vacuum cleaners will feel lighter to use through ergonomic solutions.
