Gwangju Student Education Center Launches
Hands-On Safety Programs for 'Safety Week'
The Gwangju Student Education Center announced on the 10th that it will operate the '2025 Safety Week' to mark the 11th anniversary of the Sewol Ferry disaster. The event, which will be held from the 14th to the 20th, is designed to enhance the crisis response capabilities of students and faculty, and to spread a culture of practicing safety in daily life.
'National Safety Day' (April 16) was established in response to the 2014 Sewol Ferry sinking. Through this week, the Gwangju Student Education Center has prepared a variety of activities to both commemorate the victims and reaffirm the value of safety in educational settings.

'Crisis Escape Number One' will be held a total of 25 times until November, targeting students from 4th grade in elementary school to 3rd grade in middle school. The program features practical training such as CPR and first aid, fire extinguisher use, fire evacuation, and traffic safety experiences.
During Safety Week, the Gwangju Student Education Center will also honor the victims of the Sewol Ferry disaster and promote a culture of safety in daily life through campaigns on its website and banners.
