Building an Eco-Friendly Pest Control System with 363 Pest Control Devices and 20 Automatic Repellent Sprayers
25 Outdated Pest Control Devices Replaced in March
10 Additional Devices to Be Installed and Pre-Inspection of Equipment Scheduled in April
Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced that it will replace outdated pest control devices and conduct pre-inspections of pest control equipment for eco-friendly disinfection during the summer season.
The pest control device is an eco-friendly pest control equipment that attracts and exterminates pests using UV LED lighting, and the automatic repellent sprayer is a device that releases chemicals to exterminate mosquitoes, ticks, and others, operating from May to October.
The district owns 363 pest control devices and 20 automatic sprayers. This equipment replacement is being promoted to reduce maintenance costs for equipment whose performance has deteriorated due to expiration of durability and frequent malfunctions.
Since last March, a total of 25 outdated pest control devices at 14 locations, including Maebongsan Park and Gudu Theme Park, have been replaced. In April, an additional 10 pest control devices will be installed around Children's Dream Park and Sowol Art Hall through the Haengdang 1-dong resident participatory budget.
Also, before the full operation of the pest control equipment, pre-inspections will be conducted to check for normal operation, equipment abnormalities such as lamps and motors, and the remaining amount of chemicals in the automatic sprayers.
Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, "We plan to continuously promote disinfection projects to maintain a pleasant environment by expanding the installation and management of pest control equipment," adding, "The district will do its best to establish a more efficient and eco-friendly disinfection system so that residents can live safely and healthily."
