China responds to US 104% tariff: "Additional tariffs on all US goods raised from 34% to 84%"

According to major foreign media including the Chinese Xianmen News, the Tariff Commission of the State Council of China announced on the 9th that "starting from 12:01 PM on the 10th (local time), the (additional) tariff rate imposed on all U.S. imports will be increased from 34% to 84%."

China's Ministry of Commerce added six U.S. military companies, including Shield AI and Sierra Nevada, to the 'unreliable entities' list, and decided to control the export of dual-use goods to 12 U.S. companies such as American Photonics (lens manufacturing), Novotech (bio), and Echodyne (drones). In addition, China filed an additional complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO) regarding the U.S.'s 50% additional tariff measures.

Earlier, the U.S. decided to impose a cumulative tariff of 104% on China in response to China's retaliatory tariff measures after the second term of the Donald Trump administration began. President Trump announced that, following the so-called '10% + 10%' tariffs, a 34% country-specific reciprocal tariff would be imposed starting from the 9th. In response to China's announcement of retaliatory tariffs, the U.S. warned of and implemented an additional 50% tariff.
