Novelis Korea and HS Hwaseong Donate 100 Million Won Each for Wildfire Relief... Daegu Chamber of Commerce Donates 150 Million, Korea East-West Power Contributes 100 Million Won

On the 9th, North Gyeongsang Province announced that major women's organizations in the region visited the provincial government office and delivered a donation of 25 million KRW to help victims of the massive wildfire in northern North Gyeongsang.


The donation ceremony was attended by Lee Cheolwoo, Governor of North Gyeongsang Province; Son Byungil, Secretary General of the Community Chest of Korea North Gyeongsang Branch; Kim Jaedeok, President of the North Gyeongsang Saesallim Volunteer Association; Lee Bokseon, President of the North Gyeongsang Women's Association Council; Son Jenny, President of the Gyeongbukhoe; and about 20 other members from the organizations.

The North Gyeongsang Women's Association Council contributed 10 million KRW, the Gyeongbukhoe contributed 10 million KRW, and the North Gyeongsang Saesallim Volunteer Association contributed 5 million KRW, totaling 25 million KRW to support the swift recovery of wildfire victims struggling in their daily lives in northern North Gyeongsang.


Korea East-West Power Co., Ltd. also delivered a donation of 100 million KRW for wildfire damage recovery. As a leading eco-friendly energy transition company, Korea East-West Power is pursuing zero-carbon power generation projects using renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power, as well as hydrogen and ammonia.


In particular, the company is strengthening its energy cooperation system with North Gyeongsang Province for new power generation projects such as hydrogen co-firing, energy storage systems, and wind power.


Kwon Myungho, CEO of Korea East-West Power, stated, "We hope that this donation will provide some help to the wildfire victims who have fallen into despair."


Lee Jongwon, CEO of HS Hwaseong, and his team visited the North Gyeongsang Provincial Government Office and delivered a donation of 100 million KRW for wildfire recovery, with Governor Lee Cheolwoo and officials from the North Gyeongsang Community Chest of Korea in attendance.


This donation was collected from the warm hearts of HS Hwaseong employees to support residents of five cities and counties in northern North Gyeongsang?Uiseong, Andong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok?who suffered severe damage from the massive wildfire that occurred on March 22. The donation will be used for disaster recovery and support for victims through the North Gyeongsang Community Chest of Korea.


Lee Jongwon, CEO of HS Hwaseong, said, "I hope this can provide some help to residents who lost their homes to the wildfire. I wish for the affected residents to return to their daily lives as soon as possible."


The Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industry delivered a donation of 150 million KRW at the North Gyeongsang Provincial Government Office for the recent wildfire recovery in North Gyeongsang.


Since its founding in 1906, the Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has served as a strong pillar of the regional economy for over 118 years. Comprising more than 4,600 member companies, it represents the Daegu business community and contributes to the strengthening and promotion of industrial competitiveness.


Park Yoonkyung, President, said, "We gathered support through the voluntary participation of our member companies to offer comfort and assistance to those who suffered great losses from the large wildfire. Although it is a small gesture, we hope it brings real comfort to the affected residents."


The North Gyeongsang Chamber of Commerce and Industry Council delivered a donation of 100 million KRW through the North Gyeongsang Community Chest of Korea on the 8th to support residents suffering from large-scale wildfires in Andong, Uiseong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok.

This donation was prepared by the North Gyeongsang Chamber of Commerce and Industry Council by gathering contributions from 10 chambers of commerce in the region and will be used for recovery in wildfire-affected areas. The participating chambers include Pohang, Gyeongju, Gimcheon, Andong, Gumi, Yeongju, Yeongcheon, Sangju, Gyeongsan, and Chilgok.


Yoon Jaeho, Council President, said, "It breaks my heart to think of the residents, businesses, and small business owners affected by this wildfire. Although it is a small gesture, we hope it brings some comfort to those who lost their homes, and as a representative organization of the North Gyeongsang economy, we will continue to strengthen our solidarity with the local community."


Youth organizations in the North Gyeongsang region held a ceremony to deliver a donation of 15 million KRW for wildfire recovery.


The ceremony, held for residents affected by wildfires in the five cities and counties of Andong, Uiseong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok, was attended by Lee Cheolwoo, Governor of North Gyeongsang Province; Moon Kwanbaek, President of Korea Junior Chamber International; Kim Jaehyun, President of the North Gyeongsang Junior Chamber International; and about 10 other participants.


On the 9th, Park Jonghwa, CEO of Novelis Korea, and company executives visited the North Gyeongsang Provincial Government Office and donated 100 million KRW for wildfire recovery and support for victims, with Vice Governor Kim Hakhong and officials from the North Gyeongsang Community Chest of Korea in attendance.


Through this donation, they once again emphasized their commitment to contributing to the community's disaster recovery and providing practical assistance to affected residents.


CEO Park Jonghwa said, "We collected this donation to support residents in North Gyeongsang who suffered from the wildfires. We will continue to engage in various social contribution activities to grow and prosper together with the local community."


Vice Governor Kim Hakhong stated, "We deeply appreciate the warm sharing from Novelis Korea. The donated funds will be used with care for the swift recovery of affected residents and the restoration of the region."
